Beautiful antique Gillinder & Sons Lion pattern covered compote, dating to approximately 1877. This Victorian Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) piece features clear pressed glass accented with dramatic frosted figural elements.
The fitted cover is topped by the distinctive frosted lion finial, with curled tail and paw resting against a tree stump. The clear patterned bowl sits on an elaborate frosted figural pedestal, creating a wonderful contrast between clear and satin glass.
